  • 1/4 cup olive oil (for chili oil)
  • 1 tablespoon chili flakes
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Salt and pepper

Instructions

  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions in salted water until al dente; drain and set aside.
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil and butter over medium-low heat. Add sliced onions with a pinch of salt and cook for about 25-30 minutes until caramelized.
  3. Prepare the chili oil by gently heating olive oil, chili flakes, minced garlic, and salt in a small saucepan for 5 minutes.
  4. Combine drained pasta with caramelized onions in the skillet. Pour over chili oil and mix well; add reserved pasta water if necessary.
