  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (for dough)
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup black cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 2 egg yolks

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, blend the cold cream cheese with granulated sugar and vanilla until smooth. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl, cream together softened butter with light brown sugar and granulated sugar until fluffy. Mix in egg yolks and vanilla.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together black cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  4. Scoop out dough portions, flatten slightly in your palm, place cheesecake filling in the center, and wrap the dough around it to form balls. Roll in black cocoa sugar before placing on a baking sheet.
  5. Preheat oven and bake until edges are set but centers remain soft.
